Pickering Methodist Church has received a grant of £28,700 from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund to help the organisation recover and reopen.
Nearly £400 million has been awarded to thousands of cultural organisations across the country including Pickering Methodist Church in the latest round of support from the Culture Recovery Fund, the Culture Secretary announced today.
This grant will be used to make all areas of the site COVID secure and to allow the chapel to reopen following the lockdown. The building will be thoroughly deep-cleaned following its prolonged closure due firstly to the significant repairs required and then to the enforced closure due lockdown.
Additionally, directional flow posters, sanitister stations, waste bins and vinyl pew cushions will be installed.
We are also delighted to announce that we have received a grant of £1,500 from Allchurches Trust under their “Hope Beyond” fund. This grant is also aimed at helping the church recover from prolonged closure.
