The Open The Book Team visits Pickering Infants, Junior and St Joseph’s on a fortnightly cycle and all thoroughly enjoy the visits. Please continue to pray for this work. If you would like to be part of the team, please speak to Ruth Duck – we would warmly welcome new members.

Ryedale Food Bank.  Thank you to those who have already contributed, and please continue giving. Pray for those families who are struggling financially in the current economic climate.

Methodist Homes: MHA is a major provider of not-for-profit care homes, housing and support services for older people.  a range of services throughout the UK to meet the differing needs of individuals in later life is offered

Services for older people are:

  • Founded on love, compassion and respect
  • Well-managed and professional
  • Focussed on nurturing a person’s spiritual and physical well-being

MH have strong values based on a Christian heritage and it’s strategy is to continue the provision of more quality services for older people, developing a range of care, housing and support into the future.

Please support those who work with MH and those who receive their services with your prayers.

Elderly residents of Pickering: Please pray for the elderly residents of Pickering – for those living at home and those in the specialist care of Alba Rose, 5 Whitby Road and Arden House.

Christian Aid: Please pray for the work of Christian Aid: the collectors who will be delivering and collecting envelopes door to door this week, those who are being asked to donate; the organization for wisdom in the use of the money, and the recipients of the aid.

Prayer Letters from The Wilsons: Prayer Letters from Diane and Bryan Wilson are in the church foyer. Please continue to pray for them and the work of Flying Mission in Zambia. .

Ryedale Talking Magazine: Please pray for those who contribute time and readings that are recorded for distribution to people who are blind or visually  impaired . May God bless the time spent sharing together as the readers prepare for each monthly recording session. If you know of anyone who is visually impaired who would like to receive a CD or tape recording please let Martin know..

Pickering luncheon club: Please pray for those who regularly attend on Tuesday lunchtimes and for other events. May God bless the time spent sharing together as members enjoy some social interaction in what may otherwise be quite a lonely life for some. PS – If you know of anyone who would benefit from attending – please let Daphne know.
